Why you need them
There are two things that you need to move up in google rankings:
1. Content
2. Links to your site
We have already talked about content. Now, we are going to discuss links. There are many ways
of building links, most of which we have tried on our road to success.
Giving away articles
Remember how I told you to to get two articles for each topic you want on your website? That's because one article is to put unique content on your website & the other is to give away for free. You only give it away under one condition, though: a backlink to your website. Type "free articles" into google. There will be well over a trillion results. Most of these websites will require you to create a free membership. Distributing your first article will be the most tedious and time consuming. After that, you just need to log in and publish. I always published to the first 20-30 results in google for "free articles". In time, if your articles are good enough, websites and blogs will pick them up and publish them. This creates even more links to your website. I have found this process to be the most effective way of building links and traffic to your website.
Hiring a link building company
Depending on how big your budget is, you may want to hire somebody to build links for you. Our budget was small, but we did hire out some link building and were happy with their services. Submit Edge was the company we used.They offer packages starting at $15 and going as high as $1,500.
Don't build links too quickly
Anybody who has built a successful online business will tell you not to build too many links too quickly. If you do, the search engines think you are spamming them and will punish you in the rankings. We found distributing one article per week caused us to consistantly gain in search engine rankings. In our experience, it usually takes about two to three weeks for the links to have an effect on search engine rankings.
